About Hikari Aikido
- We teach a modern Aikido, which is based on a well thought-out concept and offers you numerous development opportunities. For us, an atmosphere based on traditional martial arts and a modern teaching style, in which all movements are explained in detail, belong together.
- We teach Aikido as a dynamic martial art and movement art that presents you with appropriate physical challenges. Everyone is encouraged individually and can thus make appropriate progress for themselves.
- We move in a national and international network and orient ourselves to one of the most renowned Aikido teachers worldwide: Christian Tissier Shihan, 8th Dan Aikikai.
- We ensure the quality of our teaching through constant further training at seminars. Continually developing as a teacher is particularly important to us.

What's Aikido
Hikari Aikikai Aikido is a traditional Japanese martial art created by Morihei Ueshiba (O-Sensei) in the early 20th century, as a synthesis and breakthrough out of the traditional jitsus of empty hand, sword and stick technique. O’Sensei’s Aikido preserves the spirit of traditional budo in its most creative, positive spirit.
Composed of three Japanese characters: Ai, meaning harmony; Ki, spirit or energy; and Do, the path or the way. Aikido: “The Way of Unifying Energy”.
Even before the attacker has decided to attack me, he has already lost.
